Variable amounts for recurring expenses
Hi! First of all, I absolutely love Orbit. The app looks amazing and feels incredibly polished. I’ve actually started using it not only for subscriptions, but to track all of my recurring monthly expenses.
One feature I think is really important is support for recurring expenses where the amount changes every month.
For example, electricity, water, utilities, AI tools, usage-based services, and similar expenses are recurring, but they do not always have the same amount.
It would be great if, when the due date arrives, Orbit could ask something like “Were you charged?” and let you enter the actual amount charged that month.
The recurring item could still keep its usual due date and estimated/default amount, but each month you could confirm or edit the real amount. That amount would then be saved in the payment history and used for the actual monthly total.
Since Orbit already includes categories for utilities and other variable recurring expenses, I think this would make those categories much more useful.
I would genuinely love to use Orbit as the place where I track all of my fixed and recurring expenses, not just traditional subscriptions. This feature would make that possible.
Apart from that, I’m loving the app so far!
